Students can take this division after completing 6 semesters, allowing them to delve into aspects of civil law and develop relevant skills for a career in law. This decision is expected to enhance students' competencies in legal practice within society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives of the Civil Law Division Specialization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objective of this division is to enhance students' competencies in applying civil law in various practical situations, as well as to make a significant contribution to legal practice in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Courses in the Civil Law Division&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The courses offered in the Civil Law Division consist of Mandatory Faculty Courses and Specialized Courses, scheduled from semesters 2 to 7. The Civil Law Division at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Lampung, has 33 permanent lecturers, including 3 Professors. The lecturers are distributed across 5 Peer Groups as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Fundamentals of Legal Science<\/strong>, Led by Prof. Dr. Hamzah, S.H., M.H., this Peer Group focuses on introducing legal concepts, legal theories, legal systems, legal research methods, and legal ethics, aiming to provide a solid foundation for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Islamic Law<\/strong>, Led by Wati Rahmi Ria, S.H., M.H., C.B., C.R., this Peer Group focuses on the study of legal principles in Islam, including legal sources such as the Qur'an and Hadith, and their application in social contexts. Additionally, this group discusses contemporary issues in Islamic law, such as fiqh, family law, inheritance, and Islamic banking, to understand the relevance and implications of Islamic law in daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Law &amp; Society<\/strong>, Led by Aprilianti, S.H., M.H., this Peer Group focuses on the interaction between law and social dynamics. It discusses how law influences society and vice versa, including issues such as social justice, human rights, and the role of law in conflict resolution. The group also emphasizes research on the impact of legal policies on specific social groups and how law adapts to social changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Western Civil Law<\/strong>, Led by Dr. M. Fakih, S.H., M.S., this Peer Group focuses on the study of civil law systems applicable in Western countries, including fundamental principles, legal codes, and court practices. It addresses aspects such as contracts, civil liability, property, and inheritance, as well as comparisons with other legal systems. The aim is to understand the application of civil law in modern society and its impact on individuals and entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Business Law<\/strong>, Led by Dr. Sunaryo, S.H., M.Hum., this Peer Group focuses on legal aspects governing business activities and commercial transactions. This includes studies on corporate regulations, business contracts, consumer protection, as well as trade and investment law. The group also discusses current issues such as corporate governance, business disputes, and the impact of regulations on business practices, aiming to prepare students to face legal challenges in the business world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills and Competencies of Students After Taking Civil Law Courses&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After taking courses in the Civil Law Division, students are expected to possess the following skills:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The ability to analyze and apply civil law to various cases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding and drafting legal documents, such as contracts and agreements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to resolve disputes through negotiation or mediation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of critical and analytical thinking skills to evaluate and effectively resolve legal issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significant contributions to legal practice, whether as lawyers, consultants, or mediators in civil-related legal situations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Career Paths for Graduates from the Civil Law Division<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduates of the Civil Law Division have varied and promising career opportunities, such as becoming civil lawyers who handle contract disputes, property rights, and civil liability. They may also serve as legal consultants providing advice to individuals or companies, or as mediators and arbitrators resolving disputes outside of court. Some graduates may choose to pursue further studies or work in government agencies and non-governmental organizations focused on legal issues and human rights.
